Highlights of the small port town

Due to its diverse cultural events, Neustadt was awarded the European flag by the Council of Europe in 1969
in recognition of its services to international understanding and European unity - and has been able to call itself a European city ever since. Founded in 1244 by Count
Adolf IV, the small harbor town with around 15,000 inhabitants is quite tranquil.

The way into the old town leads through the last remaining town gate, the imposing Kremper Tor with its striking gables.
