Your real estate agent for Reutlingen, Tübingen and the surrounding area
What sets Reutlingen apart is its attractive location in the middle of the countryside - in the immediate vicinity of the Swabian metropolis of Stuttgart. In addition, there are all the advantages of an attractive shopping city, which also offers an attractive employment situation thanks to the flourishing economy.
One of the most beautiful vacation regions in Germany is on the doorstep, so to speak: the Swabian Alb. In Reutlingen's historic city center, you can walk in the footsteps of the past and present: Wilhelmstrasse, a dynamic pedestrian zone with numerous shopping opportunities, is particularly popular with residents and visitors alike.
Thanks to the open-minded nature of the citizens, you will find a special cultural diversity here. Reutlingen is one of the most committed communities in the whole of Germany - almost every second person is a member of an association or organization. Thanks to the incomparable natural landscapes and the wide range of leisure activities on offer, Reutlingen has a high quality of life and recreational value.
Your VON POLL IMMOBILIEN estate agents (IHK) are well networked locally and throughout the district of Reutlingen and will provide you with reliable and competent advice on real estate brokerage - including in Metzingen, Rottenburg and the city and district of Tübingen.
Flexible and far-sighted - the traffic
With around 115,000 inhabitants, Reutlingen is by definition one of southern Germany's major cities. However, the nearest freeway access (A8) towards Ulm is just under 25 minutes by car from the city center - which in itself contributes to peace and quiet and a reduction in emissions in the town. The B 28 (Tübingen - Ulm) and B 312 (Stuttgart - Biberach - Memmingen) run through the town. The Scheibengipfel tunnel, which only opened in 2017, relieves the city center of through traffic.
Bicycles are also one of Reutlingen's preferred means of transport, accounting for around 15% of traffic (and rising). Regional and long-distance trains run regularly from the main train station, taking you to Stuttgart's international airport in 30 minutes, for example.
Economically and educationally strong - Reutlingen as a location
The former free imperial city is one of the earliest industrialized cities in Baden-Württemberg and is considered the largest economic center between Stuttgart and Lake Constance.
The strongest economic factors are the production areas of electrical engineering, mechanical and plant engineering and the textile industry. Reutlingen is a global market producer: high-tech applications for automated industries are in high demand both nationally and internationally.
Reutlingen also leaves nothing to be desired as an educational location: from daycare centers to all types of schools to four grammar schools, everything is represented here. There is also a technical college, the special education faculty of the University of Tübingen and two theological colleges.
Discover Reutlingen's diversity
For visitors and residents alike, there is plenty of living history to experience in Reutlingen: Medieval fortifications, the Gothic St. Mary's Church, romantic half-timbered houses and the beautiful, winding alleyways of Reutlingen's old town invite you to marvel, store and linger. Don't miss the weekly market in the center: A popular meeting place for Reutlingen residents who value fresh and regional quality products.
The repertoire of the "Theater Reutlingen Die Tonne" offers plenty of cultural variety, as does the town hall with numerous attractive events. Reutlingen also has its own philharmonic orchestra for lovers of classical music.
The district of Reutlingen boasts a wide range of leisure activities: from active recreation such as hiking on Lake Gönningen, golfing and horse riding to numerous clubs and cultural activities. The range of regional specialties is just as appealing as the leisure activities on offer - international cuisine meets traditional fare.
