Verden Racing Club of 1890 e.V
The first gallop race in Verden was organized by our club back in 1891. On June 25, 1891, the first race day took place in the Mauloher Marsch on the banks of the Aller under the direction of the newly founded club, which was followed by many events with large crowds in the years that followed. This popularity led to the opening of a permanent grandstand for 500 spectators in 1902.
In 1933, another historic highlight was reached: On April 30, 1933, the new racecourse was inaugurated - according to reports from the time, there were around 14,000 participants and 50,000 spectators at the event.
In 1936, the Verden racing club organized a 9-day horse show with riders from 6 nations and 2 participating Olympic teams. Numerous other gallop races and horse shows followed over the next few years. A detailed review of over 130 years of club tradition can be found on our homepage in the 'History' section.
Today, the members of the Verdener Rennverein concentrate on two events: A gallop racing day and the traditional VER-Dinale, the indoor horse show which celebrated its premiere in 1976 and has attracted many visitors and participants to the Niedersachsenhalle Verden year after year ever since.
