ODILO REUTTER: WHAT WAS YOUR BEST PROJECT? ALVAR AALTO: "MY NEXT."
Focuses of the design and construction of numerous projects at home and abroad range from office and administrative buildings, hospital construction, residential construction and housing for the elderly, to church construction and church community centers. Within the framework of the federal research project, the new conception of a dementia ward of the nursing home Johanniterstift Plochingen was realized. The beginning of a comprehensive, energetic approach, as well as research and development, was the LDA, Landesdenkmalamt BW in Esslingen.
The 2010 building Rivergate in Vienna, Office Center Handelskai for Auer and Weber, is probably considered a milestone for Odilo Reutter Architects among the energetic glass buildings of 32,000 square meters of glass area. For this, the project received all certifications, such as Leads and Green Building.
In addition to the architectural practice, Odilo Reutter was active in a multi-year teaching and scientific collaboration at the faculty of the University of Stuttgart. His commitments ranged from chairing the planning advisory board of the city of Esslingen, to serving on the board of the Association of German Architects, BDA.
