"Villa Conte Giusti," a jewel of classic Venetian architecture of the 1700s whose origins date back to 1577, is part of the Cittadella family.
It is believed that the present villa stands on the ruins of an ancient castle, of the feudal lords "da Onara" noble family, which during the Middle Ages extended its possessions between the two walled cities of Cittadella and Camposampiero. The historical origin of Tombolo is linked precisely to the Onara Castle.
The date of construction of the Villa shown on the plaque above the monumental entrance to the north bears the date 1716.
The villa is divided into three blocks, the Central block, the West barchessa and the East barchessa, the latter embellished by the presence of an oratory dedicated to St. Catherine, where Count Giovanni Cittadella and Count Giusti rest.
In 1800 the villa was totally remodeled by the owner, Count Giovanni Cittadella, and today the villa is in need of major renovation. The West barchessa renovated in the 1990s benefited from the renovation with replacement of the roof, beams and pillars.
The East barchessa, whose ground floor was inhabited until 2005, is the best preserved.
It is hard not to fall in love with the villa's private park of about 42,000 m², where there are various species of flora including Siberian Elm, Laurels, Hornbeams, Lime trees, Maples, Paper Mulberries, Cedars, Beeches, but among all dominates the Magnolia Grandiflora with its 300 years of history.
